I’ve seen other people make goals of learning 200 to 500 characters a week or something along those lines. That’s something between 28 and 78 characters per day. That’s definitely a measurable goal because you either learned those characters or you didn’t.
I’ve been going through each episode of the slow Chinese podcast sentence by sentence. The above image is taken from the first episode of the podcast. I highlighted the characters that I knew beforehand. Even without a concentrated effort to learn the characters, I understand 56% of them.
My goal with this exercise is to increase my listening comprehension and increase my ability to think in Chinese in real time.
